I guess since no one comes to this sight I'll shut her down for now... Here's one last post -- something hillarious I just saw on SportsCenter. Here's the setup...

MEXICO CITY -- Pole-sitter Scott Pruett and hometown driver Luis Diaz turned in a near-flawless performance Saturday for a victory in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series.

A crash on Lap 73 led to a fight between Chris Bingham and JC France. Bingham, in the No. 40 Pontiac, tried to pass France's No. 59 Porsche on the inside, triggering contact that sent both cars into the wall around the eighth and final turn.

Bingham climbed from his car, pushed France and threw a quick punch. France responded with a flurry of blows before pinning Bingham on the track. Firefighters and others working to clear the two battered cars were slow to pull the drivers apart. Both drivers and their teams were asked to meet with Grand Am officials.

On SportsCenter, the anchor made the comment, "this is the longest fight France has ever been in." I couldn't stop laughing!

One of my favorite things in the world happened today. A girl approached me and gave me her number. Name's Jill, here's a picture and some etc... She seems nice enough and I think lunch is slated for Wednesday.

The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free has been in my CD player non-stop lately. Joke of the week: A young woman was pulled over in Texas for speeding. As the TX State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, "I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the Texas State Police Ball." He replied, "Texas State Troopers don't have balls."

Since I haven't done a real update in a while, here what's up. It's fucking cold as hell this week. At the beginning of February we were in mid 60's for the low -- gorgeous weather. It got drastically worse and started to snow last week and it hasn't been above 45 since. Fucking groundhogs... I went and got Devil May Cry 3. If you haven't played this series, I highly recommend it. I played 1 and loved it; they totally ruined 2 by making it ridiculously easy, but redeemed themselves by making 3 ridiculously hard. I have never in my life been so frustrated and so enamored at the same time while playing a game. It truly is one of the most difficult games I've played, but how rewarding when you are on your game! Instead of relying entirely on your sword and guns for style points, you now have 4 distinct styles you can play with which opens up loads of hand-eye-candy as you hack n' slash through some very difficult missions. I am playing on easy right now and it feels like hard. Normal was next to impossible after level 2, but after playing a while, I feel a lot more confident. What is really nice is that the style moves and combinations actually work on bosses and there aren't a lot of 'lucky shots' from enemies or bosses that playing for style points (what you should always be doing) won't counteract. Kudos for making a game that actually pisses me off by being too hard. Just makes me want to play it more. I actually had to pay Uncle Sam 19 dollars this year because my accountant at work misstated my filing status and thus didn't withhold much from my checks. This really grated on me because they still took around $1000 of income tax out of my check and I didn't get any of it back. That is, of course, not to mention the $1300 of social security tax that I will never ever see. Thanks baby boomers! Thanks Roosevelt! Can I please do what I want with that dough? Like spend it? Has anyone ever heard of the time value of money? Then there's the icing -- CA state tax. They owe me 6 dollars. Yippee. If there is a god, Bill Maher and I are definitely going to hell. This week's new rules were over the top -- even for religion-hater Bill. The new rule went something like this: he put up a picture of one of those southern churches that got torched and said something to the effect of, "if you don't have to pay taxes, you can't call the fire department. I'll call the fire department, you can pray for rain." I couldn't help but laugh, but kept checking over my shoulder for thunderclouds. Another one showing a picture of an olympic luge team, "if most of your speed comes from gravity, you're not an athlete, you're a weight." I agree whole-heartedly. I am a little upset, however, at Bryant Gumble's little comment though. Leave it up to the whitest black guy on the planet to be racially divisive. Sure, black people are good at running and jumping, asians are good at table tennis and speed skating, whites are good at skiing and snowboarding, but if Dan Patrick (ESPN) said of the summer olympics, "the appalling lack of whites makes the summer games look like the million man march," the media and everyone else would have his head. Why are these kind of comments okay as long as they don't come from white people or criticize minorities? Sorry for the politics. I'll shut up now.

I watched our women's snowboard cross final tonight. It was terrible. The U.S. hopeful took an early lead and was way out in front for the whole race until the very end. She attempted a grab off the last jump and crashed... Guess that's what she gets. This isn't the X-Games after all -- those are way more important. Ice dancing has been boring as usual; the Italians took over 1st place during the compulsory dance. I just want to see the female solo skating. It's like the only event I ever care about during the winter games because there is always so much drama, and you know how I'm addicted to drama. Gogo Sasha Cohen. And of course, here is the compulsory link to my johari. You can do it, or not.

What a fine weekend it has been. I had the place all to myself, and even though I didn't use it to it's full debauched extent, I did manage to have a pretty good time. I went to a fashion show in Chico on Friday night after work and then went out with some random people -- most of which I didn't know -- that were some serious partiers. I could not keep up with all the bar hopping and thus took a cab home. Since then it's just been little things like listening to loud music and doing a few chores. Which reminds me, I purchased a new deep house mix from an amazing DJ. I highly recommend giving it a listen to, and if you can only find a few tracks online you should give a listen to the following: Soul Mekanik - Wanna Get Wet (Buick Project Mix), Cosmos - Deep Inside The Groove, Nic Fanciulli - Squirreled, Mathias Schaffhauser - Coincidance (Trentemoller Remix), Booka Shade - Mandarine Girl. These are all from CD 2 which is, for having to purchase both CDs, worth it. CD 1 is more mellow and beach-inspired, but CD 2 is an absolute gem and has been in my CD player non-stop. BTW, happy Darwin Day everyone.

The president's state of the union address was fantastic. He opened with a memorial address to the late Mrs. King and then went straight to foreign policy. If you missed it, I highly recommend you catch a replay on C-SPAN or download the transcript. There are too many highlights to post, but my favorite burn of the night was a comment on the Iraq war and the criticism he and our military have recieved for it, "Second-guessing is not a strategy; hindsight is not wisdom." He also delivered a brazen address to the people and governments of both Iran and of Palestinian [Hamas]-controlled Israel. He infused steel into the hearts of his supporters once again and made the eyes roll of his critics. Surprisingly, the applause was less divisive during this address than it was during his previous two, although during his address of health care, applause was split right down the middle -- first the Democrats interrupted his speech to applaud when he said that everyone needs affordable health care, and then the Republicans applauded when he spoke of tort reform. I believe the applause was less divisive this year because '06 is an election year and many Democrats are trying to appear both moderate and 'strong' on national defense to win more votes. What's funny is that most of them will simply be contradicting themselves, especially when you take into account all the nasty comments about the war, social security, and the VERY partisan-split confirmation vote on Judge Samuel Alito -- 58-42.

Two big games today. First, David -- the twelve-year-old -- played with his Paradise team in a tourny final against Vista from Oroville. The game was a physical battle, but what made it 'interesting' was the officiating. We managed to get about 90 percent of the bad calls. You see, with junior basketball you get junior officials, so bad calls are a regular occurance. All you can hope for is that you get bad calls on both sides. It wasn't the case tonight, but with 40 seconds left in the 38-42 game that all changed. On Vista's inbound, our forward, Jordan, held one of their players but wasn't called for it. We stole the ball and ran down to the other end only to have Jordan flagrantly fouled. Vista's coach, obviously chagrined, ran out onto the court and got a technical. Jordan knocked down one of his two for the flagrant and Derrick Disthe put in one for the technical -- efectively ending the game. With 1 second left on the clock, Vista didn't even take the floor for Paradise's inbound. They just walked off looking hurt. Well if that one call had even made up for all the terrible calls we got, I would have understood. As it turns out, they just looked like sore losers. Oh well, just another team that hates Paradise. I love it. The second win was #22 ranked OU upsetting #5 ranked Texas at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. 'Nuff said. Boomer! Sooner!
